Activating the product

A registration key is required to activate the product. Purchase a registration key for product 1207 at the online store.

Open the web page and allow the product operating in demonstration mode to time out. A note to "click here to activate" will show. Clicking will cause the registration module to load.

Enter your registration key into the field of the registration module. Enter the domain name where the product will be activated (fixed IP addresses can also be used). Click on the button "Build Activation Code" to generate the <activate> XML.

Copy the code and paste into the startup XML file named MapTron1207.xml just before the <prefs> tag. See figure 3.2a. Repeat the process for any subdomains. Most websites operate under the superdomain and a subdomain www. Always include two activation codes, one for the super domain and one for the www subdomain. See the license agreement for licensing requirements.

Important note: Do not place a registration key into any XML file. The locator application will check for registration key and disable the application if a key is found. The XML file should only contain the encrypted activation code. Store the registration key along with your records.

Save the MapTron1207.xml file and re-upload to the web server. Clear the browser's cache and reload the web page. The activated product will not show the logo or time out.

Note on browser cache

Web browsers will cache XML files. Some browsers are more persistent in using cached files. Most browsers will load a new file from server if the Shift key is pressed while the reload button is pressed, try this first. Quitting and restarting the browser may be required to retrieve the new server file, clear the cache before exiting the browser.

Note on registration module
The registration module must be in the modules folder in order to create the activation code. Make sure the modules folder contains the file name MT1207mod-REG.swf.
